Looking for a digital design internship for a student I’m mentoring

in News

Throughout 2016 I’m mentoring a student from Cirencester College.

My mentee is a truly impressive individual who wants to become a digital designer. She is actively looking for a 4 – 6 week internship for this summer to help give her experience of the role. Does anyone have any connections they could offer? She lives in Swindon and would ideally like the internship to be either there or in London, where she can stay with family.

I’m mentoring as part of a scheme being run by Career Ready, a charity that links employers with schools and colleges. It prepares young people for the world of work with a structured programme of study delivered by employer volunteers who provide masterclasses, mentoring, workplace visits and internships.

The scheme gives students with little family background of higher education or professional careers the confidence, skills and networks to achieve their potential.

And as a volunteer, I get the chance to develop my own management skills and confidence.

If you’d like to find out more about the charity, visit www.careerready.org.uk. And if you can help my mentee find a placement, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
